1992

Launch of OIBC through sponsorship by SmithKline Beecham.

1993-94

Conferences on Biomedicine Today and Tomorrow in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Osaka, Toronto, Boston, Paris, Caracas, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Philadelphia and Raleigh/Durham.

1995

Annual strategic conferences on Biomedicine in Developing Countries in Oxford.

1996

Launch of American Friends of OIBC. Hon Philip Lader, Ambassador of the United States, was the most recent Hon President.

Conference on Molecular Mechanisms of Infection and   Immunity with Chulabhorn Research Institute in Bangkok.

Collaborative agreements signed with overseas institutions. Now include India, Ukraine, Israel, Thailand and Philippines.

1997

Joint seminar with Japan Society and UK-Japan High Technology Forum in London.Workshop on Cells and Molecules in Biotechnology with Anna University in Chennai (formerly Madras).

1998

Workshop on Developing Global Bioresources through the European Union in Oxford.

1999

Opening of Oxford Conference by HRH The Princess Royal.

2000

First Symposium opened up to senior school children and their teachers.

2003

Joint conference on Modern Trends in Malaria held in New Delhi (AIIMS) and Bangkok (Chulabhorn Res Inst).

2004

Symposium on Brain and Mind held in Oxford Workshop on Novel Medicines (Oxford).

2005

Symposium on Health: A major constraint to human development held in Oxford Workshop on Novel Approaches to Combat Tuberculosis (Oxford)

2006

Symposium of What Makes Us Human held in Oxford.

2007

Symposium on Alternative Energy, Health and Environment: UK2100 and Africa Now! (Oxford)

3 students from Senegal were awarded scholarship places
