What are the American Friends of OIBC?

OIBC is an international charity that relies on public support from Europe, North America and the Far East. In order to coordinate that support within the USA, the American Friends of OIBC, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation no: 000 45685, was launched in New York in 1996. Conferences have been held in Boston (Harvard University Medical School), Philadelphia (SmithKline Beecham) and Research Triangle Park, NC (Biotechnology Center). Contributors have included corporations – such as Bristol Myers-Squibb, Pfizer, and SmithKline Beecham – as well as private benefactors. The American Friends are represented on the Board of OIBC by four of the Patrons.

Sponsorship Support:

All donations by US individuals and corporations qualify for full tax benefits. The funds go direct to sponsoring the very cost effective programs of OIBC (see Home page), with administrative costs at less than 10% of budget. Any contribution is most welcome.

To become a Benefactor and have your name associated in perpetuity with our new building in Oxford or with any of our programs, please discuss your proposed contribution with Dr Charles Pasternak by phone (+44 1865 408 311), fax (+44 01865 408 312) or email (klewis@oibc.org.uk).

To become a Friend costs just $50 per year. Friends, like Benefactors, receive the annual Newsletter and are invited to all of OIBC’s activities, which have featured social functions such as a reception in New York, a reception at the House of Lords in London, an operatic concert in Oxford and the opportunity to meet OIBC’s supporters like The Princess Royal (Princess Anne) and the Princess Chulabhorn (daughter of the King of Thailand) in Oxford.

Please send checks (payable to Am Fr OIBC) to the American Friends of OIBC office at 225 Peeke Avenue, St Louis, MO 63122-2727.
